First Aid
At Caterpillars staff are able to take action to apply first aid treatment in the event of an accident involving a child or an adult.  We have at least two members of staff at each session who are First Aid trained.  The First Aid qualification includes first aid training for infants and young children. We aim to have as many staff as possible with a relevant first aid qualification. Procedures The first aid kit complies with current Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The first aid box is situated in the Managers office and is accessible to all. It is kept out of reach of children at all times. When a child starts at Caterpillars, parents sign a consent form and give permission for emergency medical advice or treatment to be undertaken on their child. The consent form also allows us to take their child to the nearest A&E unit to be examined, treated or admitted as necessary on the understanding that the parents have been informed and are on their way to the hospital. The Manager oversees all health & safety issues.
